Landran SUV-car crash kills SD College student, six hurt
The deceased, identified as Kunwar Raj Singh of Pathankot, is a student of SD College in Sector 32; He was seated behind the driver in the SUV and suffered fatal head injury after the car crash
A 21-year-old youth who was travelling in a Fortuner, died while six persons were injured when the SUV collided head-on with a Baleno car near the Landran Chowk around 3 am on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Kunwar Raj Singh of Pathankot. He was a student of SD College in Sector 32, Chandigarh.
Police said there were four occupants in the SUV, while three people were travelling in the car.
“While the car occupants were coming from Patiala and were going towards the TDI City here, the Fortuner occupants were returning to Mohali from Sirhind after attending a wedding function. After the collision, the Fortuner further rammed into an electricity pole causing multiple injuries to the victims. Baleno also overturned due to the collision,” a police officer said.
Kunwar was seated behind the driver in the SUV and suffered fatal head injury.
Commuters gathered at the spot and took the victims out of the vehicles and then informed the police.
According to the police, Baleno occupants Harshdeep Singh, Ravneet and Narang were critically injured and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Sohana.
“All the victims were admitted to a private hospital in Sohana. Two of them have been discharged and one succumbed to his injuries,” ASI Raj Kumar said.
“All the victims are between 21 and 24 years. We are investigating the case and are yet to know who were driving the vehicles. The family of the deceased has been informed,” Kumar added
Police have registered a case against the Baleno car driver under Sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 304 A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of ₹50) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Sohana Police Station.
