A 51-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death after he intervened in a quarrel at a park in Ludhiana’s Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar area on Wednesday morning.

The deceased, identified as Brij Mangal Singh, had gone for a morning walk when he reportedly stepped in to calm an argument between a group of men.
During the scuffle, two men allegedly attacked him and chased him through the area.
According to family members, Brij Mangal returned home in a distressed condition and collapsed at the doorstep. He was declared dead shortly after.
Police from Division Number 6 station reached the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.

Inspector Gurshinder Kaur, station house officer of Division Number 6 police station said raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
