Police have arrested four accused for drug peddling and recovered 260 gm heroin from their possession. The team also impounded the car in which the accused were carrying the drugs.

The accused have been identified as Ashu Mehta of Urban Estate, Amandeep Singh of Urban Estate, Maninder Singh of Jhabewal and Suman Tiwari of Gagan Nagar of Daba.
Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Dilbagh Singh, who is investigating the case, said police arrested the accused near Government School Mundian during a special checking. The police received information that miscreants were carrying drugs in a car. They set up a checkpoint and signalled a Maruti Suzuki Swift car coming from Fortis Hospital side to stop for checking.

A case under sections 21, 61 and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been lodged against the accused at Jamalpur Police station. The police are questioning the accused to gather information about where they procured the heroin from.
