Ludhiana girl bags bronze at state chess championship

Seven-year-old chess player Inaya Jain from Ludhiana secured third place in the Under-7 girls category at the Punjab State Chess Championship held in Hoshiarpur on May 3.

Inaya, a student of Sacred Heart Convent International School, impressed with a consistent showing in the state-level tournament, which drew young participants from across Punjab. She finished among the top contenders in her category after multiple rounds that tested players’ strategy and problem-solving skills.

Inaya had recently secured second place in a district-level chess tournament, adding to her recent achievements in the sport.

Family members and members of the local chess fraternity congratulated her on the feat and wished her success in upcoming tournaments.
