Ludhiana | Portion of road caves in near Chandar Nagar Puli
Ludhiana MC executive engineer Pardeep Saluja said the road caves in incident took place due to leakage in pipe and MC team is working to repair the sewer line and the road portion.
A major portion of road caved in near Chander Nagar Puli (bridge over Buddha Nullah) in Haibowal area on Sunday evening due to leakage in a sewer line that led to soil erosion.

As per the nearby residents, the municipal corporation (MC) had installed an interceptor sewer line, around a month ago, alongside the nullah to stop the direct flow of sewage waste into the drain. In that course, they damaged the previously installed sewer line.
A shopkeeper, Kanwar Jatinder Singh Bajwa, said they had even apprised the MC officials of the leakage in the disposal line, but they did not pay heed.
At least four road cave in incidents have been reported on the road in the last one month ,including the incident reported on Sunday evening. Fortunately, no accident took place. Now, the MC staff is working to resolve the issue.
