The renovation work has been entrusted to the Public Works Department (PWD), will focus on preserving and restoring the temple’s heritage character.

The project includes scraping and removal of old whitewash, distempering, and oil paint from the temple’s highly decorative, ornamental, and stucco lime-plastered surfaces. Damaged and weathered lime plaster will also be removed and restored using traditional conservation techniques.

In addition, deteriorated brickwork will be repaired using lakhori bricks and lime mortar, while ornamental plasterwork will be carefully restored to preserve the temple’s architectural beauty and historical significance.

A tender for the project has already been floated, and bids will be received until June 8. The selected agency will be required to complete the work within four months and 25 days, ensuring that the temple is ready to welcome devotees in its renewed splendour before the commencement of the Kartik Navratras.

According to officials, the restoration work aims to enhance the temple’s aesthetic appeal while maintaining its original heritage features and structural integrity.
