Named the Sant Ravidas Express (after Guru Ravidas), the train will be inaugurated by the PM via video conferencing, railway officials said. Modi will be in Jalandhar to open the newly renovated 100-year-old British-era Jalandhar Cantonment railway station.

The PM will also virtually inaugurate 75 redeveloped railway stations across the country under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

According to divisional railway manager, Ferozepur, Sanjeev Kumar, the new train will operate thrice a week. “The train will have special coaches for the convenience of the passengers,” he said.
