Complete Buddha Nullah rejuvenation project within deadline: Chief secretary Janjua

Punjab chief secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua reviewed the ongoing project to clean the Buddha nullah in the city on Friday.

During his visit,Janjua directed the authorities concerned to expedite the work being taken up under the project to clean the nullah and complete the project within the stipulated period.

The chief secretary also inspected the state’s biggest SBR technology 225 mld sewer treatment plant (STP), which was established under ₹650 crore project to clean the water body.

While inspecting the STP Jamalpur, Janjua reviewed the process to treat the sewer waste. He also examined the outlet point of the STP to check the treatment of waste.

Earlier, Janjua along with the other officials also visited the Buddha nullah site in the Baranhara village, Hambran road, and inspected the ongoing work to establish an effluent treatment plant (ETP) in the Haibowal dairy complex. The ETP is being established to treat dairy waste.

CEO of Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board (PWSSB) MS Jaggi, municipal corporation (MC) commissioner Shena Aggarwal, deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik and others were also present on the occasion. Shena Aggarwal apprised Janjua that the progress of the project is being regularly monitored.
