Punjab on Sunday reported 40 fresh Covid cases, taking the infection count to 758,704, according to a medical bulletin.

Among the districts in Punjab, Jalandhar topped the list with seven new Covid cases.

With no Covid-related fatality, the death toll in the state stood at 17,723. The state’s positivity rate also came down to 0.22%, the bulletin said.

Among the districts, Jalandhar topped the list with seven Covid cases, Kapurthala and Ludhiana six each and Hoshiarpur five.

Twenty-seven patients recovered from the virus, taking the number of cures persons in the state to 740,723, the bulletin said. There are 258 active cases in the state.

A total of 9,810 people were vaccinated on Sunday.
