Seventh accused held in former kabaddi player’s murder: Ludhiana police

Police arrested Manveer Singh in connection with the murder of former kabaddi player Gagandeep Singh, recovering weapons and a motorcycle.

Seven days after former kabaddi player Gagandeep Singh was shot dead in Manuke village of Jagraon, the police have arrested another accused and recovered weapons and a motorcycle from his possession. The arrested person has been identified as Manveer Singh, alias Aalu, of Rasulpur village. A Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle, a .32 bore illegal pistol, one live round and two empty shells were recovered from his possession.

With this, seven persons, including a woman, have been arrested in the case so far, police said, adding that several of the arrested accused had sheltered the main shooters and were part of the conspiracy.

Gagandeep, 36, was gunned down on January 5 following a village rivalry. The main accused, Gursewak Singh, is still absconding.
