Delhi: 35-year-old employee injured after debris falls from Doordarshan building

The injured man was identified as Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Sultanpuri, who works as a contractual data entry operator at the Directorate General of Doordarshan (DGDD) office, officers said.

A 35-year-old employee sustained a head injury on Friday after stone debris allegedly fell from the outer portion of the Doordarshan building near Parliament Street in central Delhi, police said.

Police said the incident occurred around 2 pm, after which a Police Control Room (PCR) call was received at Tilak Marg police station reporting that a person had been injured by debris falling from the Doordarshan building.

The injured man was identified as Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Sultanpuri, who works as a contractual data entry operator at the Directorate General of Doordarshan (DGDD) office, officers said.

Kumar was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment.

During the inspection, police found that pieces of stone appeared to have detached from the outer portion of the building structure and fallen onto the victim.

Kumar suffered a head injury and was declared unfit to give a statement by doctors, police said.
