Chief minister Rekha Gupta met sanitation workers’ unions on Monday and heard their concerns on workplace safety, wages and healthcare facilities, officials said.

The members of the core committee of sanitation workers’ unions from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi met the CM at her residence.
The union raised issues related to recruitment, job regularisation and other service conditions, officials added. They also demanded better healthcare facilities, permanent employment and a more dignified working environment.
The chief minister said sanitation workers play a key role in keeping the city clean and assured that protecting their interests is a priority.
She directed departments concerned to review their concerns and take prompt action to improve working conditions, safety and dignity.
