Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday handed over ex-gratia assistance of ₹10 lakh each to families of the deceased in the building collapse in Saidulajab and the fire incident in Hauz Rani, officials said.

She met the families and said those responsible for these tragedies would not be spared. She assured that the government is taking concrete steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
In the Saidulajab collapse, six people died and nine were left injured while the Hauz Rani blaze claimed 23 lives.
According to a statement by the chief minister’s office, the affected families also raised concerns related to administrative arrangements and emergency response systems, stressing the need for more effective and concrete measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
“The government is not viewing these incidents merely as accidents, but as lessons that must strengthen public safety in the future,” she said.
