Man attacks mother, jumps to death in Greater Noida

A 21-year-old man jumped to his death after attacking his mother with a knife in Greater Noida. She is injured; he was declared dead at the hospital.

Greater Noida: A 21-year-old man allegedly jumped to death from a Greater Noida high-rise on Friday after attacking his mother with a knife following an argument, a police officer said on Saturday.

The woman sustained injuries to her shoulder and is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The incident occurred around 8 pm on Friday at the high-rise where the man lived with his parents and younger brother. According to police, the man had an argument with his mother over a domestic issue and allegedly attacked her with a kitchen knife. He then came down from the 18th floor, where his parents lived, and jumped from the fifth floor, police said.

“Police were alerted, and a team rushed him and his mother to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” said Swatantra Kumar, additional deputy commissioner of police (Central Noida).
