New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu on Wednesday felicitated Anil Marwah, a Delhi Metro enthusiast who has rode the first train on the opening day of every newly inaugurated corridor of the metro, since it began operations on December 24 2002.

Marwah recalled his first metro ride in 2002, stating that the Delhi Metro marked a turning point in the country’s Urban transportation when it began, and has since then enhanced connectivity across the city, reducing travel-related stress for Delhi residents.
Sahu appreciated Marwah’s dedication. “Such stories reflect the deep connection citizens have developed with the Delhi Metro. The metro system is a transformative urban mobility solution and a powerful symbol of India’s modern infrastructure development,” he said.
Marwah added that the metro has become an integral part of daily life for millions of people in the city and appealed to the minister to encourage senior government officials to travel by the metro.
