New Delhi: Delhi is likely to see intermittent rain over the next four days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting light showers on Saturday as well.

As forecast, the city received showers on Friday, but they were unevenly distributed across the Capital. Between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Ridge recorded rainfall of 10.6mm, Ayanagar 10mm, Palam 4.2mm, Lodhi Road 2.2mm. However, Safdarjung, which is representative of Delhi’s weather, received just about 1.5mm.

With schools and offices closed on Friday, the rain had little impact on traffic, and waterlogging was also limited to areas including Sangam Vihar, Sadar Bazar and Vivek Vihar. Most arterial roads and underpasses did not see any waterlogging on Friday.

On Friday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 34.8°C, 1.8°C below normal, and a minimum of 27.4°C, 1.8°C above normal.

According to the IMD’s forecast, the city is likely to have generally cloudy skies with very light to light rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in many places during the afternoon and evening from Saturday to Tuesday.

The forecast indicates that temperatures will remain relatively moderate during the period.
