The incident happened near Lohia Park, when the victim Jyoti Kapoor, along with two other women Neeru Tandon and Sushma, was on her way to attend a programme being organised at Jugal Kishore marriage hall. She told the cops that the youths pounced on her from behind and fled after snatching the chain. The motorcyclists disappeared in the crowd in “a fraction of a second” before she could call anybody for help, she added.

Police said that visuals of the snatchers had been obtained from a CCTV installed near the crime scene and an operation had been launched to locate them. An FIR in the matter was registered at the Chowk police station.
