To motivate the denizens to become a part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan’, a Tiranga Yatra was taken out in Sangam city on Tuesday. At a time when the nation is already celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the campaign is designed to make the 75th Independence Day all the more memorable.

The procession was taken out under the joint aegis of the union ministry of information and broadcasting, the central bureau of communications (GoI), Nehru Yuva Kendra and Bharat Scouts and Guides of Prayagraj from Bharat Scout Guide complex at Mumfordganj.

The Tringa Yatra was jointly flagged-off by Prof Ashok Kumar Pandey of Ewing Christian College (ECC), Kamlesh Dwivedi assistant regional organization commissioner, Kuber Singh centre head of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) and Jagriti Pandey district youth officer.

The volunteers raised slogans and appealed to the general public to join the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative and put up the Tricolor in their homes.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign under the aegis of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ to encourage people to bring ‘Tiranga’ home and hoist it to mark the 75th year of Indian independence.

Volunteers explained that our relationship with the National flag has always been formal and institutional, so bringing the flag home becomes symbolic of our commitment to nation-building, as well as a personal act of connection to the ‘Tiranga’.

The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and to promote awareness about the Indian National Flag, they explained.
