Man held for taking photos of women and posting it on social media with vulgar comments

According to the police, a woman in her 20s had approached the Malad police claiming that on November 21 a person had shot her photos and also made videos while she was walking on the road in Malad. She later found out that those videos were uploaded on social media with vulgar comments

Mumbai The cyber police have arrested a 43-year-old social media influencer for allegedly taking photos and videos of unsuspecting women on roads and uploading the same on social media with vulgar comments. He has been handed over to the Malad police where a case has been registered against him.

The accused has been identified as Amit Bhadoria, 43, a resident of Evershine Nagar in Malad.

According to the police, a woman in her 20s had approached the Malad police claiming that on November 21 a person had shot her photos and also made videos while she was walking on the road in Malad. She later found out that those videos were uploaded on social media with vulgar comments.

“We have registered a case under sections 354 D (stalking), 500 (defamation) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Information Technology Act, 2000,” said Ravi Adani, senior police inspector of Malad police station.

After the FIR was registered, DCP Balsingh Rajput ensured that the north cyber police team traced the accused and handed him over to the local police.

“We have found several videos of women on his phone. We are questioning him. He is a blogger, who posts videos and photos of women walking on the road to generate more traction and add subscribers. He gives vulgar and abusive voiceovers to the videos,” said the police officer.

The complainant girl had requested him to not take her videos when she realised. Despite that he went ahead and posted it with vulgar comments on his blog. He had also threatened the girl, according to a police officer from Malad.

“He captures photos and makes videos using a camera attached to his helmet and posts them Instagram and YouTube,” the officer added.
