New Delhi: Vijay Kumar Singh, 80, father of former Delhi chief minister Atishi, passed away at a city hospital on Friday following a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Tripta, and his daughters, Atishi and Rosa (PTI)
Singh was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital a few days ago, where he breathed his last, a family member said. He will be cremated on Saturday at Lodhi Road crematorium.

Singh, a former professor at University of Delhi, was remembered by many as an academic committed to education and public values.
Expressing grief, Delhi lieutenant governor Tataranjit Singh Sandhu, in a post on X, said, “He was a distinguished academician whose contributions to education will always be remembered.”
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia said Singh dedicated his entire life to education, values and service to society. Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal also expressed condolences.
