My son didn’t kill self, he was murdered: Mother of Kanpur boy found dead in Mumbai
We were told that he hanged himself but on reaching Mumbai, we found out that his throat was slit. Police should find the accused at the earliest, said the victim’s mother.
Kanpur: The family of Kanpur lad, Ankit Singh, who was found dead in his Mumbai hostel room on December 7, has refused the police theory that their boy killed himself. Ankit’s kin have demanded an investigation saying it was a murder. “There were injuries on his body. Why would he inflict injuries upon himself before killing self. His blood was all over the hostel room and yet police believe it to be a case of suicide,” said Ankit’s mother Geeta Singh.
Ankit was pursing the CTI course in Mumbai after completing his ITI in Kanpur. He had been living there for the past four months. According to his mother, Ankit was working on a project with two other students. They were building a rocket after which the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) would grant him ₹2 crore for further research, added Ankit’s mother.
