PATNA: The Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas (LJP -RV), an NDA constituent, on Wednesday announced its first list of 14 candidates for the two-phase Bihar assembly elections scheduled on November 6 and 11. The party has been allotted 29 seats in the final seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA.

State party chief Raju Tiwari will contest from Govindganj in East Champaran, while state parliamentary board chairman Hulas Pandey has been fielded from Brahampur in Buxar district. Paswan’s nephew, Simant Mrinal, will contest from Garkha in Saran district.
The list also includes two women candidates — Sangita Devi from Balrampur and Rani Kumari from Makhdumpur. Other nominees are Sanjay Kumar Singh (Simri Bakhtiyarpur), Vishnu Dev Paswan (Darouli), Surendra Kumar (Sahebpur Kamal), Sanjay Kumar (Bakhri), Babulal Shaurya (Parbatta), Mithun Kumar (Nathnagar), Sunil Kumar (Paliganj), Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Dehri), and Prakash Chandra (Obra).
The LJP (RV), led by Union minister Chirag Paswan, had won only one seat out of 135 it contested independently in the 2020 assembly polls. The counting of votes for the 243-member Bihar assembly will take place on November 14.
