Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday assured to call a special meeting for preserving Bhide Wada as a National Memorial.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) senior member Chaggan Bhujbal on Tuesday raised the issue of Bhide Wada in the assembly session and demanded to make it is a national memorial.
CM Shinde assured that a meeting will soon be conducted in this regard and the state government is positive on making Bhide Wada as a national memorial and will also provide funds for the same.
Bhide Wada, located near Dagdusheth Ganpati Temple, is of importance as the first girls’ school was started here by Mahatma Phule. Currently, Bhide Wada is in a dilapidated stage.
