Shirole said, “From the last many months, we have been following-up with the Pune traffic police department and Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) about various traffic-related issues in the Shivajinagar area. These include: P1 and P2 parking to be created, traffic congestion spots, wardens to be deployed at busy chowks, and waterlogging since the monsoon has started. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Vijay Kumar Magar (sir) responded positively to all our problems and even gave immediate permission for P1 and P2 parking.”

“In Shivajinagar, there are several prominent restaurants and citizens staying around these restaurants have to face traffic congestion on a daily basis as the people throng to these restaurants. Hence, we discussed deploying a warden and other solutions at the forum,” Shirole said.

DCP Magar said, “The meeting was very fruitful and we openly discussed the issues that citizens face related to traffic. For some of these issues, immediate solutions were provided while some issues need working upon.”
