Pune: The Maharashtra State Examination Council on Wednesday issued a circular stating that the Teachers Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) exam will be held in May and June. Candidates selected based on the marks obtained in the exam will qualify for recruitment in Maharashtra through Pavitra portal.

The TAIT exam scores are the basis for teacher recruitment and candidates who have cleared Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) are eligible for recruitment as teachers for Grades 1 to 5 and Grades 6 to 8, respectively. However, for Grades 9 to 12, clearing TET is not mandatory.
The official notification is published on the council’s website by commissioner Anuradha Oak.
The TAIT exam was last conducted in 2017 and 2022.
“I have been preparing for the exam for a long time,” said Ramesh Kulkarni, an aspiring teacher. Another applicant Kavita Jadhav said, “This is a golden opportunity for aspiring educators like me.”
