The deceased was later identified as Sourabh Nandlal Patil, a resident of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district and working with a private company involved in structural engineering located at Rajiv Gandhi IT Park Hinjewadi.
Patil had joined the firm around one and a half months ago, but was unhappy with the work as his job profile was different than his educational qualification. He later resigned from the job and began serving the notice period.

Investigation officer Ritesh Koli said, “After the missing complaint was registered, we initiated a search operation and found his last location on the Pune-Nashik highway. We first recovered Patil’s motorcycle and, two days later, found his body with injury marks.”
According to Vivek Muglikar, senior inspector, Hinjewadi police station, Patil resigned from the private company due to personal reasons.
Birudev Kabugade, assistant inspector, Khed police station, said, “The body was totally decomposed. Autopsy report showed injury marks on neck and other parts of the body. We registered a murder case on Sunday against unknown persons.”
