Asia Cup India Squad

India will head into the 2025 Asia Cup in the UAE with a strong 15-member squad as the Suryakumar Yadav led team will aim to defend their crown and chase a record ninth title.

One of the biggest highlights is the return of Jasprit Bumrah to India’s T20 setup. The star pacer, who has been playing only Test cricket since the 2024 T20 World Cup final, missed several white-ball series and the Champions Trophy due to injury. He will now spearhead the pace attack along with Arshdeep Singh, the ICC Men’s T20I Player of the Year, and Harshit Rana.

In spin, Varun Chakravarthy will lead the way after an impressive Champions Trophy campaign, with Kuldeep Yadav also making a comeback to the T20I side.

The batting line-up features a mix of youth and experience. Exciting youngsters Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh have all been rewarded for their strong performances over the past year. They will join forces with experienced players like Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill, who is returning to T20Is after more than a year.

Behind the stumps, Sanju Samson has been named the first-choice wicketkeeper and is expected to continue his successful opening partnership with Abhishek. Jitesh Sharma has also been included as backup, marking his return to the squad after more than a year.

India’s all-round options remain strong, with Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel retaining their roles after key contributions in recent tournaments. Shivam Dube adds further balance to the squad with his big-hitting ability and useful medium pace.

India will kick off their campaign on September 10 against hosts UAE, aiming to defend their title and secure yet another Asia Cup title.
