Abhishek Sharma finished as the leading run-scorer in the Asia Cup 2025, with 314 runs in seven innings at an impressive strike rate of 200. He set the tone for India’s batting with his attacking approach at the top of the order, scoring three half-centuries in the tournament. Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka followed closely with 261 runs, including a brilliant century, while Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan contributed 217 runs with two fifties.

Tilak Varma, meanwhile, proved to be one of India’s biggest positives from the competition. He scored 213 runs in six innings, remaining not out three times and averaging a remarkable 71. His best came in the final against Pakistan, where his unbeaten 69 guided India to victory in a pressure chase. Tilak’s calmness under pressure and ability to rotate strike made him a reliable presence in the middle order. His performance not only helped India clinch the trophy but also secured his place among the top-five run-scorers of the tournament.

The T20 Asia Cup has seen several batters rise to the occasion with memorable performances. At the very top stands Virat Kohli, who has scored 429 runs in just 10 matches across 2016 and 2022 editions. His average of 85.80 is outstanding, highlighted by a brilliant unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan. Kohli has registered one century and three fifties in the tournament.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan follows with 281 runs, all coming in the 2022 edition. He struck three half-centuries in six innings and maintained a solid average of 56.20, playing a key role in Pakistan’s journey through the tournament. Another Indian star, Rohit Sharma, has also been among the runs, scoring 271 at a brisk strike rate of 141.14. His highest score is 83.

Among the associate nations, Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat made a lasting impression with 235 runs in just five innings. His century against Oman in 2016 and his overall strike rate of nearly 147 shows his aggressive batting style at the top. Afghanistan too have found strong contributors, with Ibrahim Zadran scoring 196 runs at an impressive average of 65.33, while Najibullah Zadran chipped in with 176 runs at a rapid strike rate of over 157.

Sri Lanka’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa was one of the heroes of their title win in 2022, scoring 191 runs with a match-winning 71* in the final. Bangladesh had their share of consistent performers in the T20 Asia Cup too: Sabbir Rahman has scored 181 runs across two editions of the Asia Cup, including a fluent 80, while Mahmudullah contributed 173 runs across two editions, averaging nearly 58. The top ten list also includes Muhammad Usman from the UAE, who scored 176 runs in the 2016 edition.
