Delhi Capitals have already qualified for the playoffs, but when they come visiting Chennai, they would want to consolidate their position at the top of the table and grab hold of that added incentive in the playoffs.

CSK are facing a bit of a slump and DC could well catch them on the hop. However, as Sourav Ganguly categorically mentioned that there is a brilliant mix of youth and experience in the squad, it should ensure that the foot is not taken off the pedal, not at this stage when momentum is such a huge factor.

So, will they experiment with their playing XI? Not according to Shikhar Dhawan who wants to side to carry forward the momentum at this decisive stage in the tournament. However, the sluggish nature of the Chennai track could see Sandeep Lamichhane making a return to the playing XI.

“We want to carry forward this momentum. Also one game isn’t going to make a huge difference. You don’t want to disturb the momentum just to give a game to a player because he hasn’t played. The momentum carries much more value than bringing in an individual and giving him a chance at this stage of the tournament,” Dhawan said on the eve of the match.

Here is Delhi Capitals predicted XI for the match against Chennai Super Kings:

Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Colin Ingram, Sherfane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma
