The fourth day of the Duleep Trophy match between Suresh Raina-led India red and Dinesh Karthik-led India Blue was called off due to heavy rain

Heavy rain played spoilsport on the penultimate day of the four-day Duleep Trophy match between India Red and India Blue at the Green Park here on Friday.

Only 34 deliveries were bowled on Friday before the rain forced everyone to go back to the pavilion. India Blue were 232 for three in 65.4 overs with Hanuma Vihari (88) and Deepak Hooda (37) unbeaten when the umpires called off the day’s play due to a wet outfield.

Skipper Suresh Raina and Co still need 152 runs to take the crucial first innings lead as the Dinesh Karthik-led side had scored 383 in their first innings.

Resuming at the overnight score of 216 for three, Hooda began aggressively, striking two early boundaries quickly. Vihari could add just two runs to his overnight score even after playing 10 balls on Friday.

India Red’s Tamil Nadu batsman had struck a maiden first-class double century on Thursday to revive the innings.
