England vs Australia T20 World Cup 2021 Highlights: All-round England demolish Australia by eight wickets

England secure a confident win over Australia as they chase the 126-run target in just 11.4 overs. They win the contest by 8 wickets, with Jos Buttler leading the chase. He finishes the contest unbeaten on 71 off 32 balls. 

A 20-run over by Adam Zampa as Jonny Bairstow hits the spinner for two consecutive sixes. Buttler too chipped in with one maximum as England race to 119/2 after 11 overs. They now require just seven to win. 

England reach 99/2 after 10 overs. Buttler is still present in the middle and is playing on 63(29) balls. Jonny Bairstow is present at the other end. 

Ashton Agar picks his first wicket as Dawid Malan departs after scoring 8 from the same number of balls. ENG: 97/2 (9.1 overs) | need 29 to win in 65 balls 

Jos Buttler is unstoppable at the moment as he brings up his half-century, slamming the ball right over the bowler's head for a six. He is playing on 62 from 28 balls as England race to 97/1 after 9 overs. They now require another 29 to win in 66 balls

Despite the wicket, England are placed in the drivers seat with 82 on the board from eight overs. Buttler is playing on 49 off 24 balls as England require 44 runs in 72 balls. 

Adam Zampa is introduced in the attack and he delivers straightaway. He traps Jason Roy LBW on 22(20) as England lose their first wicket. 

Jos Buttler and Jason Roy are dealing in boundaries as the former hits Mitchell Starc for two consecutive sixes. 18 runs come in the sixth over as England gather 66/0 in the powerplay.  

Jos Buttler tries to sneak a single but Steve Smith reacts quickly and denies the English opener from picking a run. He looks in bit of discomfort as he limps around after the throw. Meanwhile, another big over for England as 11 runs come off it. ENG: 48/0 (5 overs) 

Ashton Agar starts off with a 10-run over as England reach 37/0 after 4 overs. 

Pat Cummins starts off with an expensive over as 16 runs come off it, which included a huge six by Roy on the mid-wicket region. England race to 27/0 after 3 overs. 

Jason Roy welcomes Josh Hazlewood with a boundary on the on-side. However, the Aussie quick recovers well and concedes just another four runs after that, with one coming as bye. ENG: 13/0 (2 overs) 

Mitchell Starc starts off a tight over as five runs come off it.  

England openers Jason Roy and Jos Buttler arrive in the middle to start the 126-run chase. Mitchell Starc to lead the Aussie attack. 

Two wickets in the final over as Australia are bundled out on 125 in exactly 20 overs. Aaron Finch's 44 stands the highest from the Australian camp. Chris Jordan picks three wickets to emerge as the leading wicket-taker among the England bowlers.   

Australia manage to reach 112/8 after 19 overs. Adam Zampa and Mitchell Starc are present in the middle. 

Chris Jordan with an inch-perfect yorker and that brings an end to Pat Cummins stay in the middle. He departs after scoring 12 off 3 balls. 

Aaron Finch's innings finally comes to an end as Jonny Bairstow claims a superb diving catch at the long-off region. Finch scores 44 off 49 balls as Australia lose seventh wicket. 

Tymal Mills brings an end to the 47-run stand between Ashton Agar and Aaron Finch. Agar is caught at the mid-wicket region by Liam Livingstone on 20. Meanwhile, Pat Cummins arrives in the middle and gets into action with two consecutive sixes. 15 runs come off the over as Australia edge past the 100-run mark. AUS: 110/6 (18 overs)

Asthon Agar does manage to produce some firework right in the final phase of the Australian innings. He smashes Chris Woakes for consecutive sixes and then gets a boundary of the final delivery as Australia reach 95/5 after 17 overs.  

Eight runs come in the 16th over but still a long way to go from here for Australia. They reach 75/5 as four overs remain in their innings. 

Aaron Finch hits Tymal Mills for two consecutive fours as Australia reach 67/5 after 15 overs. Finch is playing on 34(41). 

After 13 overs Australia have lost half their team and managed just 53 on the board. The only good thing for Australia at the moment is skipper Aaron Finch's presence in the middle. Can he help Australia post a challenging total here?   

Matthew Wade looks to switch gears but in the process he ends up giving away his wicket. He is caught at long-on by Jason Roy on 18(18). Liam Livingstone picks his first wicket of the evening.
