Ex-Team India manager gets bail in sexual harassment case

A local court on Wednesday granted bail to former Indian cricket team manager V Chamundeshwarinath, who is accused of sexually harassing four women cricketers from Andhra Pradesh.

A local court on Wednesday granted bail to former Indian cricket team manager V Chamundeshwarinath, who is accused of sexually harassing four women cricketers from Andhra Pradesh.

Four women cricketers had lodged a case in June last year against him alleging that he ill-treated and sexually harassed them.

Machavaram police station in Vijayawada had registered a case against Chamundeshwarinath, also the ex-secretary of Andhra Cricket Association (ACA), under section 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman) of the IPC and filed a chargesheet in the court.

Chamundeshwarinath, who was on anticipatory bail granted by Andhra Pradesh High Court, surrendered himself before the First Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate here as per the directives of the the High Court.

The magistrate granted him bail after he furnished two sureties for Rs 25,000.
