Harmanpreet Kaur, India women’s cricket team captain, is all set to create history as she features for the Sydney Thunder in the opening game of the Women’s Big Bash League.
Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to create history. She is set to become the first Indian cricketer to feature in a foreign Twenty20 cricket tournament after she was named in the 13-member squad for the Sydney Thunder franchise in the Women’s Big Bash League.

Sydney Thunder, who won the inaugural edition of the Women’s Big Bash League in 2015/16, are set to defend their crown when they take on the Melbourne Stars in the opening game at the North Sydney Oval on Saturday.
Harmanpreet Kaur is arriving on a high, having led the Indian team to their sixth Asia Cup title by defeating Pakistan in the final at Bangkok.
In a video posted on the official Sydney Thunder Facebook page, Harmanpreet Kaur said that she was excited to pay in the Women’s Big Bash League and added that she would give her best.
In July 2016, Harmanpreet Kaur created history as she became the first Indian player to be signed up for the Big Bash League. She has enjoyed a good run in the Twenty20 World Cup, in which she scored 89 runs and took seven wickets in four matches. She also played a vital part in India securing their first-ever series win against Australia in a Twenty20 International series
