While the weather forecast remains scattered thunderstorms at least in the first half, it may give pacers a bit of an edge, who can generate swing due to windy conditions.

The Indian top-order crumbled in front of the Aussie attack spearheaded by Mitchell Starc. The tall left-arm pacer picked three early wickets to put India in a spot of bother in the 189-run chase.

Plenty have been spoken about KL Rahul in the last few months. The opener recieved a lot of flak for his poor run and also lost the vice-captaincy and his spot from the Test team in the recently-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which India won 2-1.

However, he did bring in some respite by slamming a match-winning 75 in the first ODI, which witnessed a top-order collapse.

Despite the knock the spotlight will still be in Rahul, who will look more runs, especially this being a World Cup year.

If we look at recent form, India have won all of their last 8 ODIs while Australia secured seven wins in their previous 11 fixture.

If India have their own issues in their batting, Australia too is not very far from it. Their star batter Marnus Labuschagne has managed an average of a little over 33 in his 21 innings, batting at number 4.

David Warner is sitting on the sidelines and he could make a possible return to the XI. Alex Carey too has missed the opener due to illness and he could come in the place of Josh Inglis.

In fact, Travis Head and Warner boast of a healthy 114 average across seven innings as an opening pair.

As per weather forecast, scattered thunderstorms are expected to hit the proceedings anytime in the afternoon or evening.

While we hope it doesn't affect much but a rain-curtailed game is more likely to happen.

The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam has been a rich hunting ground for batters.

The 34-year-old is on the cusp of completing 13,000 runs in ODI cricket and the batting icon is also closing in on Sachin Tendulkar's incredible century record.

As per the latest developments, rain gods are expected to make their presence felt in the 2nd ODI between India and Australia. Occasional rain and a thunderstorm are expected in the morning at the match venue. The weather is partly cloudy in Vizag. India are leading the ODI series 1-0 and a win over Australia can turn the 3rd ODI into a dead rubber.

Joining forces with Ravindra Jadeja, Indian batter KL Rahul top-scored for India in the 1st ODI against Australia. Rahul, who was axed from the Test lineup in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, scored 75 off 91 balls to help India defeat Australia by 5 wickets at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rahul's teammate Jadeja played a crucial knock of 45 off 69 balls and the star all-rounder was also named the Player of the Match.

Visakhapatnam is set to host the 2nd One Day International (ODI) between India and Australia at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. After outclassing Steve Smith and Co. in the Mumbai opener, Team India will aim to seal the three-match series in the 2nd ODI on Sunday. Ravindra Jadeja-inspired Indian side had recorded a 5-wicket win over Australia to take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
