"I love this ground, love to play here as I get very good vibes. We won the first Test, but it's about starting from scratch. It's all about starting fresh and giving our best today. We like to stay in the present. We have two matches to go, so we need to be positive and give our best. Our performance as a team was good in the last Test, but we need to adjust to these conditions and play accordingly. I am feeling good mentally as I batted well in the last match, but was disappointed with the way I got out in both the innings."

India have never won a Test series in South Africa, something we have heard earlier umpteen number of times. Can they win this Test, after breaching Centurion, and get the job done?

"It'll be a touch slow to start off with and quicken up as the day goes on. There are a few cracks as well which could open up as the game goes on. But it's a good wicket. As a bowler you need to bowl tight lines, because if you give out width, you could get hit," reckons Morne Morkel

SA- Kyle Verryenne and Duanne Olivier IN for QdK and Wianne Mulder, respectively.

"(On Kohli missing out It doesn't really bother me, we have got a Test match to play. Two changes: Kyle Verryenne comes in for QdK and Duanne Olivier for Mulder. Losing Quinny is never ideal. He has been a big player for us. Losing any big player is never ideal. But we need to move on. We have a lot of talent in our squad and we need to back them. There were a lot of good things you can speak about at Centurion. You need to be fair to the environment. a lot of positives and good conversations for us to take out of that."

“Unfortunately, Virat has had an upper back spasm and hopefully he'll recover for the next Test. It is every Indian player's dream to captain his country. Really honored and looking forward to this challenge. We have had a few good wins here and hopefully, we'll look to continue that. Hanuma Vihari comes in place of Virat. Just the one change. It was a good Test at Centurion overall. We really performed well as a team and are really excited about this match.”

As South Africa strive to level the Test series, they will be without Quinton de Kock, who announced his retirement from the traditional format after the Centurion Test. Skipper Dean Elgar, however, has insisted the team to handle the development professionally. The hosts could bring in wicketkeeper-batsman Kyle Verreynne in place of de Kock.

Waiting to tick the three-figure mark since 2019, skipper Virat Kohli will also hope for a turn in fortunes. Kohli has scored 310 runs in just 2 Test matches at the Wanderers and needs just 7 runs to overtake former New Zealand batter John Reid to become the leading run-scorer for a visiting player.

India have never lost a Test at the Wanderers. They played five at the venue and won twice - by 123 runs in 2006 and by 63 runs in 2018 - while three others ended in a draw. India have played five or more Tests at 19 venues outside Asia and Wanderers remains the only ground where the team are yet to incur a defeat.
