India vs South Africa Highlights, 2nd Test, Day 1: SA 35/1 at Stumps, trail India by 167 after bowling them out for 202

PUJARA LIVING A CHARMED LIFE!  A sharp bouncer from Olivier, one angling into Pujara. The right-hander fends the ball but it comes off his gloves and loops over the deep backwards short leg fielder. Olivier can only hold his head in disbelief. The plan almost worked.

IND are 40/1 after 20 overs.

Marco Jansen continues to breathe fire. Not only has been the only wicket-taker so far but he's also been the fastest of the lot. Just one run from the over.

Olivier hasn't been as express as he usually is but he makes a strong comeback with a maiden.

Ngidi is off the field for now as Duanne Olivier is back into the attack.

Marco Jansen, who has been extremely impressive alongside Ngidi in this spell, continues to stem the run flow.

INSIDE EDGE BUT SAFE! Ngidi, who has gotten Pujara out twice in this series, almost gets him for a third time as a short ball finds the inside edge of Puajra's bat and flies past the forward short leg fielder. This must have brought back memories of his Centurion dismissal.

EDGED AND GONE! Marco Jansen provides the much-needed breakthrough for the Proteas. Outside off and the extra bounce helps Jansen pick Mayank's outside edge and the ball is safely pouched by Verreynne.

DRINKS! After an absorbing 1st hour of play on Day 1 of this 2nd Test, players take the drinks break. Despite the SA pacers drying up the runs in the last couple of overs, the first hour as belonged to India

NGIDI MAKING THINGS HAPPEN! Only bowled two overs so far but boy has he been on the money from the get-go. Asks another question this time. A peach of an outswinger that beats Rahul's bat

INSIDE EDGE BUT SAFE! Rabada induces an inside edge off Mayank. The ball pops up after ricocheting off the pads. But there's no short leg and the diving square leg fielder cannot get there on time.

First change in the bowling attack. Lungi Ngidi has been introduced.

FOUR! Three fours in a row and this time, it's Mayank Agarwal. Overpitched Rabada as he strays down leg. Agarwal obliges and he flicks the ball through deep square leg for 4.

MENACING BOUNCER, SA APPEAL AND KL GIVEN NOT-OUT. SA Review. Olivier, once again, brings out a menacing short ball. The ball rises sharply and Rahul is caught in a tangle. He manages to bring his bat down on time but the ball deflects on the way to the keeper. Elgar reviews and the replay shows that the umpire was right as the ball clipped his shoulder. 

FOUR! GOOD RESPONSE! And finally, Rahul gets his first boundary after 28 balls. Too straight, on leg stump, and too full from Olivier. Rahul nonchalantly drives the ball past mid-on for 4

EDGED AND FOUR! The lack of bounce and carry on this pitch plays in Rahul's favour as the ball runs past the gully off the outside edge for 4.

FOUR! Mayank continues to look good. This time, he punches the ball through mid-on against Rabada for four.

IND are 20/0 after 7 overs.

HUGE APPEAL AND NOT OUT! Once again, the corridor of uncertainty entices Rahul to poke at an outswinger from Rahul. Olivier manages to beat the outside edge and there's a huge shout for caught-behind after a massive sound. Umpire gives it not-out. Elgar doesn't review and the replay shows that the sound came due to Rahul's bat clipping his own pad.

TOP NUT! A beauty from KG Rabada! Short of good length, the hard length as they say, and the ball zips past Rahul's outside edge after nipping away from around the off stump

NO BALL, FIRST AND LAST WARNING! A waist-height beamer from Duanne Olivier and if he does it again, he will be forced out of the attack

OFF THE MARK! KL Rahul picks a single behind square

FOUR! PUNCHED AND FOUR! Once again, Agarwal doesn't look to hit too hard. An outswinger from Rabada, Mayank waits on it, opens the face of the bat and pierces the gap through cover-point for 4. He's looking good

BUMPER FIRST UP! Duanne Olivier is back and as expected, he begins with a lovely bouncer to Mayank Agarwal first up.  

FOUR! Jeeeez, the sound off the bat was music to ears. Slightly overpitched from Olivier and Mayank leans into the cover drive and creams the ball for 4. He's off the mark and so is the Indian side.

FOUR! A low full-toss from Olivier and Agarwal gently bunts it past mid-off four 4.

The pitch looks slow and Shaun Pollock in the commentary box agrees. The first four balls didn't quite carry to the wicket-keeper and the fifth ball beat Rahul's bat.  Rahul gets bat on ball and that's the over.
