IPL 2022, SRH Predicted XI vs LSG: In a lop-sided encounter, Sunrisers Hyderabad went down to Rajasthan Royals by 61 runs, enduring a bad day in office and starting their IPL 2022 spell on a disappointing note. Chasing 211 for the win, Hyderabad failed to pose any serious threat to Rajasthan as they slumped to 29 for four at the start. The side eventually managed to notch up 149 for seven as it was outplayed in all three departments of the game in Pune. Had it not been for Aiden Markram's unbeaten 57 and Washington Sundar's 14-ball 40, the 2016 IPL champions would've reached an even lower total.
Hyderabad last year finished with the wooden spoon and recorded just three wins out of 14 games, and the unit will be looking to get back on its feet to avoid another mediocre season. They face a stiff challenge from new entrants Lucknow Super Giants, who put up a clinical show against defending champions Chennai Super Kings to record their first-ever win in the competition.

Hyderabad will be up against a strong batting line-up comprising the likes of KL Rahul and Evin Lewis, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's expertise and Umran Malik's raw pace remain crucial. The focus will also be on Hyderabad's opening combination and it remains to be seen whether Abhishek Sharma starts the innings with skipper Williamson. Also, Sundar had a forgettable outing against Rajasthan where he gave away 47 in his three overs. Post Rashid Khan's exit, Hyderabad have reinforced their spin attack by picking up Shreyas Gopal and Jagadeesha Suchith for ₹75 lakh and ₹20 lakh respectively. But they only had Sundar as a spin alternative in the previous game, and they could add a tweaker to the eleven as the action shifts to DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.

Kane Williamson: Post David Warner's exit, Williamson has got two major responsibilities. Along with captaining the side, the Kiwi forms the fulcrum of their batting. He scored just two in the last game before falling prey to Prasidh Krishna. Williamson will be eager to help his side gain some early momentum but he has big shoes to fill in quest for a second IPL title for Hyderabad.
Washington Sundar: He was a specialist top-order batsman during his India U-19 days. Sundar has honed his bowling skills since his rise in the international arena to present himself as an all-rounder. But Hyderabad can slot the attacking left-handed batter, who is 6'1" and uses his height to the fullest advantage.
Rahul Tripathi: His form at the No. 3 position will be crucial throughout the season. The former Kolkata Knight Riders star was instrumental for his previous franchise, scoring at a strike rate of 141.96, which is the best at the No. 3 batting spot. He can maximize the powerplay against Lucknow.
Aiden Markram: He had scored a valiant 41-ball 57 at a time when his side was losing wickets at regular intervals. Markram's fifty delayed the inevitable and reduced the margin of defeat and he remains a crucial element in the middle order, especially when Nicholas Pooran started his spell with SRH on a nought.
Nicholas Pooran: He has been in a stellar form of late for West Indies. He was in fact, West Indies' top performer with the bat against England and India. But Pooran, who fetched ₹10.75 cr in the February auction, started his season with a nine-ball duck against Rajasthan. He would look to redeem himself against the Super Giants.
Abdul Samad: We haven't seen his best so far but the youngster has been backed by many pundits including Irfan Pathan to make it big in the league. Samad has the power to clear the boundary rope with absolute ease and chip in with some overs as well. Samad, who was Hyderabad's draft pick, looks to repay the faith shown in him by the franchise.
Romario Shepherd: He had also scored an 18-ball 24 against Rajasthan to steer his side to a respectable total. With the ball, he returned with figures of 1/33 in four overs. Shepherd also has a big task on his hands, especially after Jason Holder's departure. Shepherd was bought for ₹7.75 crores in the mega auctions.
Shreyas Gopal: While Washington can chip in with four overs, Hyderabad will be eager to try out either Shreyas Gopal or J Suchithg to reinforce their spin attack. He had a pretty silent IPL 2021 where he played just three games before shifting his base to Hyderabad. Gopal is just two wickets short of 50 IPL wickets and he will look to tick off the milestone. His best figures in the T20 competition are 4/16 against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Umran Malik: He was bowling thunderbolts against Rajasthan Royals. He may haven't mastered the accuracy part, but Malik's blistering pace is a big plus for Hyderabad. He can clock 150 kph with ease and the young lad will eye a couple of early scalps against Lucknow.
T Natarajan: He has the experience of playing for India and Natarajan is expected to leave his mark this year in Indian conditions. In 25 games, he's got 22 wickets under his belt with most coming at the death. Playing after a long injury lay-off, he picked two wickets against Rajasthan but conceded 43 runs in his four overs against Rajasthan.
Bhuvnewshwar Kumar: An automatic pick! His experience and ability to swing the ball both ways make him the leader of Hyderbad's bowling pack. Bhuvneshwar looked like his old self in the last game where he was the pick of SRH bowlers. He took the crucial wicket of opposition skipper Sanju Samson and returned with figures of 1/29 in his four.
