Mohammad Amir, blessed with baby girl, skips Pakistan vs World XI T20

Mohammad Amir and his wife Narjis were blessed with a baby girl on Tuesday. Amir will miss Pakistan’s three T20s against World XI to be with his wife in London.

Mohammad Amir, who was initially named in Pakistan’s squad to take on the ICC World XI in a three-match T20I series, will be unavailable as he’ll be staying with his wife in London. Sohail Khan, who had already joined the squad as cover, will replace Amir.

Amir and wife Narjis have named their daughter ‘Minsa’. Several Pakistani teammates, including Pakistan Women’s cricketer Kainat Imtiaz, took to Twitter to congratulate Amir and family.

The left-arm fast bowler has successfully re-established himself in international cricket after making a comeback from the spot-fixing scandal of 2010 that had halted his career more than six years ago.

In one of his most memorable performances, Mohammad Amir played a decisive role for Pakistan in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against India, snaffling key wickets including that of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to guide his side to a historic win.
