Singh told this to reporters Sunday night when asked this because of the controversies in cricket. He said that of late, because of the BCCI's efforts, India's standing in the cricket world had gone up and even the cricket body was doing very well financially.
He said he was always of the opinion that the IPL should not be allowed to grow into a monopoly.
About his controversial newspaper article in which he had talked of Naxalism and the Union Home Minister, P Chidambaram, the Congress leader said that he did not want to add anything to what had already been written.
"Whatever I wanted to say has been printed and I do not wish to repeat it," he said.
