A senior official of the company said he has got indications from friends in India that the IPL had been taken aback by the reaction from Pakistan after the players were snubbed by franchises at the auction.
Indian home minister, P Chidambaram and Bollywood star and Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan have conceded that the Pakistani players could have treated in a better manner at the auction.
"There are signs that the IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi might find a way to open a door for franchises to sign on Pakistani cricketers even for this season," Salman Ahmed of Portfolio World company said.
IPL Chairman Lalit Modi on Tuesday said he would be speaking with the Pakistan Cricket Board to sort out matters over the players' auction controversy and franchises can still pick Pakistani players as substitutes.
Official sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board said that despite furore created by the snub to Pakistani cricketers at the IPL auction, it was still willing to patch up with the Indian board.
