Younis was indefinitely banned and Naved were suspended for one year and fined two million rupees ($23,500) for poor performance during the tour of Australia early this year, and both were appealing via the arbitrator.

Those hearings had been put back by arbitrator Ifran Qadir until after the Asia Cup squad is chosen_ deliberately so according to Iqbal Mohammad Ali, who heads the parliamentary committee. Ali urged the PCB on Sunday to treat all players fairly in their appeals.
