Parth Bhut

Parth Bhut is a left-arm orthodox spinner and a useful lower-order batter who has developed into an important member of Saurashtra's red-ball setup. Born in Junagadh, Bhut came through the Saurashtra system before making his first-class debut during the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy season. His progress was initially gradual, but his ability to extract turn and maintain control over long spells eventually established him as one of the side's principal spin options. He made his List A and T20 debuts a couple of years later, in 2021.

His breakthrough came during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy campaign. In the quarter-final against Punjab, Bhut produced one of the defining performances of his early career. Coming in at No. 9 with Saurashtra struggling at 147/7, he remained unbeaten on 111, his maiden first-class century, to drag his side to 303. The innings was particularly impressive given that he had never previously scored a first-class fifty. He then completed the match with a five-wicket haul in Punjab's second innings, helping Saurashtra win by 71 runs and reach the semi-finals, where they ultimately lifted the title.

That all-round contribution also highlighted another useful aspect of Bhut's game. Although his primary value comes with the ball, he has shown the ability to contribute important runs from the lower order. His unbeaten hundred against Punjab remains his only first-class century, but it demonstrated that he could handle pressure and bat for long periods when required. He also played a part in Saurashtra's 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning campaign, taking 12 wickets in seven matches, including 1/35 in the final against Maharashtra.

Bhut has continued to develop as a frontline spinner, and the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season brought some of the most significant performances of his career. He took 7/56 against Goa in November 2025, his best innings figures at the time, before producing an even more memorable display against Punjab in January 2026. He dismissed Shubman Gill in both innings, returning figures of 5/33 and 5/8 to finish with a match haul of 10/41. He also contributed an unbeaten 37 with the bat and was named Player of the Match. He ended the season with 20 wickets, and later on was named in the Saurashtra squad for 2026.27 Ranji Trophy.
