Left-arm spinner Varun Joijode returned superb figures of 7/101 while Swapnil Salvi’s 183 went in vain as Shivaji Park Gymkhana beat Islam Gymkhana by three runs in a thrilling third round match of 75th Mumbai Police Shield on Sunday.

Shivaji Park Gymkhana were bowled out for 365 on resumption on the second day, with Salil Agharkar (6/80) taking a hat-trick in the 65th over. Riding on Salvi's 145-ball 183 that comprised 13 fours and 8 maximums, Islam Gymkhana threatened to overhaul the target but fell agonisingly short in the end.
