RR vs DC: Turning point – Rishabh Pant slams unbeaten 78 off 36 balls

Rajasthan Royals opener Ajinkya Rahane’s ton went in vain as Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant slammed half-centuries to take DC over the line with four balls to spare.

The turning point of the match came in 9th over of the innings when Shreyas Iyer was dismissed by Riyan Parag and that brought Pant to the crease. The southpaw turned the match on its head with his power-hitting.

Pant’s partnership 84-run partnership with Prithvi Shaw not only steadied DC in the chase after two quick blows, but also issued a counter-attack which caught the home side off-guard. He went past the fifty-run mark off just 26 deliveries and his unbeaten innings included six fours and four sixes in his 36-ball innings.

Delhi, with 14 points from 11 games, leapfrogged Chennai Super Kings to top the standings on net run rate while Rajasthan remained in seventh place in the eight-team league.
