Sehwag met medical experts in a Nottingham hospital before arriving here with the rest of the team ahead of India's Super Eight match against the West Indies at Lord's tomorrow.

But media manager Anirudh Chaudhry dismissed reports that Sehwag actually underwent a surgery.

Sehwag sustained the injury during the Indian Premier League(IPL) in South Africa and his Twenty20 World Cup campaign ended without playing a single match.

Sehwag's injury led to speculation about a rift between the opener and his captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who maintained a stoic silence over the issue.

The ICC Event Technical Committee today confirmed Dinesh Karthik as replacement for Sehwag and the stumper-batsmen is expected to fly to England tomorrow.
