Kolkata have slipped to fourth spot instead of moving to the top… and former KKR man Rahul Tripathi walks away with the Player of the Match trophy!

"It's been very special with KKR, and now with SRH too in the last few games. I have been struggling with my health over the last few days and the management did a very good job with me. There are days when things get tough, but I enjoy the hard work and the good days," he says.

"Rahul Tripathi was amazing and so was Aiden Markram, although in different roles. Marco, with his bounce and pace, was a big part of our attack with Bhuvneshwar, who swings the ball."

"It is just about getting the fields right for Malik. He touches 150ks on every ball and has been nicked off for fours. But he has been patient. There are many little things we can work on, and the guys are working on them. We're seeing the improvement."

"That feels good. It's nice to bat. When Tripathi gets going, you have time to settle in and he really set a nice platform. It was good to get the win for the side. Him (Pooran) and I, we laugh about it, we've struggled a bit in the past so it's nice to get it done. You get more used to it with time. Late flourish from Rana and Russell took Kolkata to a competitive 175 for eight. But Tripathi, the former KKR man, was flawless during his stay to notch up a blazing 71. Markram also hit a quick-fire 68 to take Hyderabad past the finish line. Natarajan picked up three while Umran Malik added two to his name. A clinical display from Hyderabad and they are now seventh on the points table with three wins in five games.

“Feel drained. I thought it was a good total. Rahul Tripathi didn’t allow us to settle down. Credit to the pace with which they played. Their bowlers also didn’t know where it was going. We put on a great batting effort. Was a bad day with the ball.”

The 2016 IPL winners lost Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma early but Tripathi kept them on track with his 21-ball fifty and Markram shifted gears towards the end.

Hyderabad have registered a hat-trick of wins! They have notched up an improved performance and ticked all the boxes in this game!

It's not Chakravarthy's day! Markram inches closer to his fifty by hitting consecutive boundaries against the tweaker. A lucky four past the keeper and a six over cow corner.

Tripathi went for one more boundary but picked out Venkatesh Iyer. He's played his part to perfection, laying the foundation of run-chase with a blazing 37-ball 71. Pooran joins Markram as Hyderabad look for finishing touches.
