‘I’m sure we will get to see the old Kohli': Ex-India opener points ‘lack of confidence’ behind Virat's recent form
Virat Kohli has not scored an international ton in the last 73 innings.
Virat Kohli's struggle to convert starts into big total continued as he was dismissed on 23 off 48 deliveries in the 1st innings of the ongoing day-night Test against Sri Lanka in Bangalore. The former India captain, who averages 49.96 in Tests, has not scored an international ton in the last 73 innings and with every passing innings questions are being raised about his approach.

Addressing the same, former India Test opener Wasim Jaffer feels that Kohli is a flawless cricketer but is lacking confidence due to scarcity of runs under his belt. He also believes that Kohli is one century away from regaining the lost confidence and is optimistic that once that happens fans "will get to see the old Virat".

“There is nothing like that (on whether there are flaws in Kohli’s technique). He doesn’t have enough runs under his belt and there is a lack of confidence."
"The kind of runs that we expect from Kohli is not seen. Once he gets to that hundred and he finds form, I am quite sure that we will get to see the old Virat Kohli,” said Jaffer in a chat with ESPNCricinfo.
Kohli also failed to make an impact in the second innings as he departed early on 13 off 16 balls. He, however, had shown signs of returning back to form in the opening Test in Mohali, where he scored 45 off 76 balls which featured some stylish cover drives.
