Indian cricketers last year refused to meet a WADA deadline to comply to the rule, saying it intruded on their privacy and was a potential security risk. In October, the ICC suspended the clause until the Indian players' concerns were sorted out. “We know some people are scared (about the clause),” Howman said. “But one needs to understand that it's the international federation (ICC) which ultimately has to look into and address the concerns of the national federations.”

Howman is here to attend the Asia-Oceania intergovernmental meeting on anti-doping in sports. The controversial whereabouts rule requires elite athletes to make themselves available for out-of-competition testing for one hour every day.
