Yousuf gets go-ahead from PCB to play in Bangladesh League

Pakistan former captain Mohammad Yousuf, who was last week banned by the Cricket Board (PCB) from playing for the country, has been granted permission to play in the Bangladesh domestic Twenty20 competition to be held in Sharjah later this month.

A board official confirmed that Yousuf had this week applied for permission to play in the league and was cleared by the board as he does not feature in any of the national squads.

The decision to allow Yousuf to participate comes a day after the board issued a statement saying that no player could go and play in foreign leagues without its prior permission.

Several members of Pakistan's World Twenty20 squad, including Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Hafeez, were scheduled to play in Bangladesh later this month but none of the 15-man contingent will be allowed to travel as the board wants them to participate in the training camp for the world tournament beginning in the West Indies late next month.

With many of the world's leading players already busy in the Indian Premier League, the Bangladesh clubs have invited around 10 Pakistani players to play in the T20 league.

The board had recently imposed indefinite bans on Yousuf and Younus Khan and one year ban each on Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved for acts of misconduct on their tour of Australia.
