Scindia was on his way to Delhi from Gwalior on Thursday travelling by Shatabdi Express when the train stopped outside New Delhi railway station at 11.40 pm and remained there till 2.15 am as the train traffic was affected due to a train derailment.

Sharing the same with media persons state Congress spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi said it was during the train halt when a woman passenger Vandana who had boarded the train at Agra and was going to Delhi complained of uneasiness. Later, her condition worsened as there was no doctor available in the train.

On seeing the woman’s serious condition Scindia who was travelling in the same coach had talks with new railway minister Piyush Goyal and the DRM concerned at least twice. He had talks with doctors too. When the train reached New Delhi railway station about 2.30 am Scindia assisted the woman to take her to the hospital in an ambulance.

Scindia also thanked the railway minister Piyush Goyal for arranging doctors in the wee hours on his request.
